Guevarra, Calida teaming up vs Trillanes

05:33 AM December 18, 2018

After losing in a Makati court, the Duterte administration will now bring its case to revive opposition Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV’s coup d’etat case for the 2003 Oakwood mutiny at the Court of Appeals (CA).

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra told reporters on Monday that he and Solicitor General Jose Calida have agreed to petition the CA to overturn the decision of the Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 148.

The Makati RTC Branch 148 has, for the second time, turned down the Department of Justice’s motion for an arrest warrant and hold departure order against Trillanes. —Dona Z. Pazzibugan
