Arroyo should still get her pork barrel, says Gonzales

MANILA, Philippines—House Majority leader Neptali Gonzalez II said that Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is still entitled to a priority development assistance fund, or “pork barrel”, despite charges of electoral sabotage filed against her.

Gonzales was quoted as saying that Arroyo should still get her pork barrel for projects and programs that she may have for her district, since she has not been convicted to any charges filed against her.

Gonzales also said that he hopes the court will allow Arroyo to bring her laptop and cell phone when she gets transferred to the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City so she can continue her work as a lawmaker.
