Grab offers free rides to celebrate ‘Battle of Katipunan’

MANILA, Philippines — Following the thrilling basketball championship game between University of the Philippines (UP) and Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), Grab Philippines offered Wednesday free rides to and from Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City.

Dubbed as “Battle of Katipunan,” the UAAP Season 81 men’s basketball had the two universities — both located along Katipunan Avenue — facing each other at the finals.

The Ateneo Blue Eagles bested UP Fighting Maroons in two of three games, and crowned champion of this season’s league. Wednesday’s Game 2 was held at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.

In a Twitter post, Grab advised the public to use promo code GRABUAAP to avail of free rides up to P250 to and from any point along Katipunan Avenue.

Grab said the free ride promo would run until 11:59 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2018.Consuelo Marquez, INQUIRER.net   /kga
