SWAT kills motorcycle ‘thief’ in Cavite
SAN PEDRO CITY – A still unidentified man accused of stealing a motorcycle was killed in a shootout with members of the police Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit in Silang town in Cavite province on Thursday morning.
A report from the Calabarzon police said the incident happened at 4:20 a.m. in Barangay (village) Malabag.
This was after a SWAT team on patrol received a police report about a motorcycle stolen in the vicinity.
The police were tracking down the suspect, who was reportedly headed towards the town proper, when the suspect allegedly began to shoot. The police said they were forced to retaliate and kill the suspect.
Authorities recovered a .45-caliber gun from the scene.
In Biñan City, Laguna, a couple, identified as alleged drug pushers, were shot dead by a still unidentified gunman inside their house in Barangay Canlalay around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Article continues after this advertisementThe victims, in a report also from the regional police office, were identified only as an alias “Michael,” aged between 38 and 40, and his live-in partner, “Pearl,” aged between 18 and 20. The police said the couple used their house as a drug den.
According to the police, the gunman barged into the victims’ house and fired shots. The police were still conducting an investigation.
