Marijuana plants seized in Danao

POLICE uprooted marijuana plants in barangay Linao Togonon, Danao City, northern Cebu at dawn yesterday.

Police said an investigation is underway to identify the owner and the cultivator of the marijuana plantation.

Danao police went to sitio Malingin to serve an arrest warrant against murder suspect Elizar Rom.

Police arrived in Rom’s house around 3 a.m. but he was not around.

Rom’s house was situated in a secluded area where only two houses could be found. The other house is owned by Resty Batucan, said police.

Police stayed in the area for several hours but Rom did not arrive.

It was around 5 a.m. when police found the marijuana plantation located near the two houses.
