At least seven truckloads of garbage from Manila Bay were collected by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) during a clean-up drive on Saturday.

A total of 34.31 tons of trash were gathered by 200 street sweepers who participated in the drive along the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard.

Among those garbage collected were bamboo poles and driftwood carried by currents from nearby fish pens, water hyacinths, plastics, and household wastes.
