BURGOS, Isabela – A former village chief of Barangay (village) Divisoria in Aurora town was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding gunmen at 4 p.m. on Tuesday (Nov. 6) in Catabban village here, police said in a belated report.

Pacifico Duque, 46, was shot just as he closed the gates of his farm before going home to Divisoria.

The police have yet to establish why Duque was attacked.

“I do not know of any threats against him. He had no known enemies here,” said Divisoria village chief Melaida Duque, Pacifico’s widow, in a telephone interview on Wednesday (Nov. 7)./lb
