PRC names Cebu Institute of Medicine as top school in physician licensure exam

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Wednesday named the Cebu Institute of Medicine as the top ranking school in the Physician Licensure Examination (PLE).

Results released by the PRC on Tuesday showed that 3,717 out of 4,542 passed the examination conducted in September 2018.

The Cebu Institute of Medicine placed first with a 99.33 percent passing rate. One hundred forty-nine out of its 150 graduates passed the examination.

Meanwhile, the University of Santo Tomas followed at second place as it garnered a 98.71 percent passing rate, 459 out of its 465 of its graduates passed the examination.

In third place was the University of the Philippines-Manila, which claimed the third spot with a 98.59 percent passing rate. One hundred forty out of 142 of its graduates passed the licensure exam.

The results of the examination were released five working days after the last day of the exam.

It was administered by the Board of Medicine in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cebu and Davao. /ee
