Baguio resident drowns at Hundred Islands on All Saint’s Day

DAGUPAN CITY – A resident of Baguio City drowned at the Hundred Islands National Park at 6 p.m; on Thursday (November 1), All Saint’s Day, police said.

Eduardo Bembo, 43, was on a holiday break with friends at Quezon Island and had decided to swim alone because his companions did not know how to swim.

Bembo was suddenly engulfed by a strong current.

Members of the Philippine Coast Guard pulled Bembo out of the water and brought him to a hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival. YOLANDA SOTELO
