Laguna drug suspect killed in buy-bust
SAN PEDRO CITY – A suspected drug pusher was killed in a buy-bust operation in Calamba City in Laguna province before noon on Saturday.
Supt. Chitadel Gaoiran, spokesperson of the Calabarzon police, identified the suspect as Ranil Ligpitan.
In a message, Gaoiran said members of the Laguna police intelligence unit conducted the buy-bust around 11:40 a.m. in Barangay Looc.

Sensing that he was transacting with the police, Ligpitan allegedly drew his gun and shot the undercover policemen. The police returned fire and killed the suspect instantly.
The police recovered a handgun and a sachet of suspected shabu (crystal meth) in the crime scene. MARICAR CINCO
