Wolves avoid upset
THE MULTI-TITLED Convergys Wolves averted a major upset, needing a strong finish to escape a winless Opinionology squad, 71-62, last Saturday in the 2011 Powerade E-League For Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.
Convergys outscored Opinionology in the fourth quarter, 18-8, to tally its third win in as many games and move up to solo first place in the standings.
Opinionology succumbed to its third defeat in as many outings but not after giving the Wolves a huge scare.
Ibhar Je Del Mar paced the Wolves with 15 points, while Ronald Mabanto and Dean Junber Escalon added 11 and 10, respectively.
In the other game, Randy Bihag fired 16 points, Joshua Permacio scattered 15 and Roel Carillo unloaded 10 as the Accenture Sharks dumped the Executive Boutique Tarantulas, 90-54.
