MRT offloads 850 passengers Monday morning

A southbound train of the Metro Rail Transit line 3 (MRT-3) suffered an electrical failure early morning Monday that resulted in the offloading of 850 passengers at the Guadalupe station in Makati City.

According to an advisory, the MRT-3 train suffered an “electrical failure in the motor” at 6:23 a.m.

MRT-3 said a possible cause was “worn-out electrical sub-components.”

Affected passengers were serviced by another train that came nine minutes later.

The last recorded offloading incident at the MRT-3 was last September 30, which was also due to “electrical failure in the motor” which affected 400 passengers. /cbb
