CAUAYAN CITY—- A 65-year-old retired government worker was killed in a fire that razed his house in Barangay (village) Dabburab at 9 a.m. on Saturday (Oct. 13), police said.

The charred remains of Danilo Sarandi was discovered inside his room after fire fighters put out the blaze.

Sarandi’s neighbor, Rodel Acacio, alerted the local fire station when flames gutted the house.

Arson investigators said Sarandi was the lone occupant of the house. They have yet to establish what started the fire. /muf
