Village councilor shot dead in Sorsogon

PILI, Camarines Sir– An incumbent village councilor was killed by three unidentified gunmen Friday night in Juban town in Sorsogon province, police report said Saturday.

Police said victim Emmelio Guab, 42, was watching a basketball game at the covered court of Lajong Elementary School in Barangay (village) Lajong at around 8 p.m. when the three suspects shot him.

Guab sustained multiple bullet wounds and was killed immediately, police said.

Police said the suspects fled towards the town center aboard a motorcycle following the shooting.

Recovered in the crime scene were six slugs of unknown gun caliber and seven spent shells.

Police have yet to determine the motive behind the shooting.  /muf
