The Manila International Airport Authorities (Miaa) assured the public on Monday that the acquisition of equipment at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is “above board,” following reports that the country’s premier airport is using a fake Windows 7.

“Rest assured, the acquisition of all MIAA equipment is above board as prescribed by the Philippine Government Reform Act,” the Miaa said in a statement sent to INQUIRER.net.

The statement of airport authorities came after a photo circulated online that NAIA is allegedly using a pirated copy of Windows 7.

However, the photo also captured a pop-up message of Windows that states: “Windows is not genuine. Click this message to learn how to get genuine.”

The Miaa said that its Management Information System Division is already looking into the accuracy of the photo. /ee
