1 dead, 4 nabbed in Laguna, Cavite anti-drug ops
SAN PEDRO CITY – A drug suspect was killed while four others were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Laguna and Cavite provinces on Monday.
In Cavite City, Jordan Bernal of Barangay 48A was slain in a gunfight with the policemen around 2 p.m. Sunday.
A report from the regional police office said Bernal drew out a .45 caliber gun when he noticed the police back-up during the buy-bust operation. This forced the law enforcers to shoot back. Bernal died while being taken to the Bautista hospital in the city.
In Amadeo town in Cavite, the police arrested Sonny Cuevas for allegedly selling illegal drugs in Barangay Pangil at 4:20 a.m. Monday. The police also recovered a .22 caliber gun from Cuevas.
In Sta. Rosa City, Laguna, drug suspects Jerome Rendon, Jerome Tantiado Libardo, and Julius Biñas were arrested in Barangay Pooc around 2:30 a.m. Monday.
The police recovered nine sachets of suspected shabu (crystal meth) from the suspects. The three are in the police’s drug watchlist, the report added. MARICAR CINCO
