Drilon lauds court order to transfer Arroyo to VMMC
MANILA, Philippines—Senator Franklin Drilon on Thursday lauded the decision of a Pasay City judge ordering the transfer of Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to the Veterans Memorial Medical Center.
Drilon said that he supported the ruling of Judge Jesus Mupas, saying that the government would be able to “fully secure” the former president at the VMMC, which is run by the government.
“She can be fully secured there and I endorse that order of the judge. It is the obligation of government to secure her and make sure she is not harmed,” Drilon said.
“The best way to secure her is to put here in a government health facility so that the government can discharge its function of securing the former chief executive,” he added.
