Trillanes ‘leaving fate to God’ amid looming resolution on coup d’état case

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said he is now leaving his fate to God amid reports that another court in Makati is ready to issue a resolution on a coup d’état case filed against him.

“Kung submitted for resolution na, ibig sabihin mag-aantay na lang tayo kung ano ang magiging decision ng korte,” Trillanes told reporters on Wednesday when asked about the case, which has been reportedly submitted for resolution at Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 148.

“Sa atin, papasa-Diyos na natin kung ano man ang magiging resolution,” he added.

The senator reiterated that he is ready to submit himself to the judicial process, no matter how “unjust” the decisions might be.

The coup d’état case at Makati RTC Branch 148 has been revived, following President Rodrigo Durtete’s issuance of Proclamation No. 572, revoking the senator’s amnesty ab initio and ordering for his arrest.

On Tuesday, another court – Makati RTC Branch 150 – ordered Trillanes’ arrest for rebellion in connection with the 2007 Manila Peninsula siege.

While waiting for Branch 148’s resolution, Trillanes said his legal team would file a petition at the Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday.

However, he said his lawyers have yet to discuss what petition they would file before the SC.

Trillanes said they would also file a motion for reconsideration before Makati RTC Branch 150 to reverse its arrest order against him.

The senator was granted temporary liberty after he posted P200,000 bail on Tuesday. /kga
