Fisherman in Pangasinan dies after being crushed by tree

/ 12:02 PM September 26, 2018

DAGUPAN CITY —  A fisherman in Sual town, Pangasinan, was killed by a tree that he cut down with a chainsaw on Tuesday (Sept. 25), police said.

Investigator SPO2 Gerald Mamanta said the falling gmelina tree crushed the head of Rolando Taboy, 49, at about 4 p.m. in Barangay (village) Baquioen.

Mamanta said Taboy, an experienced tree cutter, even attempted to shove the tree to prevent it from hitting an electric wire as it was about to fall,

But the tree instead fell in his direction, killing him instantly, police said.  /muf
