Two men shot dead in Isabela drug busts

CITY OF CAUAYAN — Two drug suspects were killed in separate police operations in Isabela province on Saturday, belated police reports said.

Manny Mapalo, 48, allegedly shot an undercover policeman to whom he sold a sachet of shabu for P1,000. The policeman, who was spared from serious injury by his bullet-resistant vest, fired back killing the suspect at 11:15 p.m. in Sitio (subvillage) Padilla, Tagaran village, in this city.

At 9:45 p.m. in Cabatuan town, Robert Cabuyadao, 33, was shot and killed after he allegedly attacked the undercover policemen who bought shabu  from him.

In Ilagan City on Friday afternoon, an Apayao resident was arrested after he allegedly sold shabu to a police agent in front of a shopping mall.

Wellington Aguda, 39, of Flora town, was also tied to a gunrunning syndicate. He yielded a baby Armalite rifle, a 9mm pistol, and ammunition after his arrest. /cbb
