2 drug suspects dead in firefight with Dagupan cops

DAGUPAN CITY—- Two suspected drug dealers from Manaoag town were killed in a police operation on Saturday morning (Sept. 1).

Danilo de Guzman Cerdana and Jopet Espenoza Caldona reportedly engaged the police in a firefight after one of them fired at an undercover policeman who survived because he wore an armored vest, said Chief Insp. Melencio M. Mina, Manaoag chief of police.

Cerdaña and Caldona suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were declared dead on arrival at a local hospital.

Cerdaña possessed six sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu (crystal meth). Caldona had a sachet and a plastic bag also containing suspected shabu. /jpv
