P7M worth of properties destroyed in Binondo fire
MANILA, Philippines—An estimated P7-million worth of properties were destroyed in a pre-dawn fire Tuesday that razed a five story-building along Sto. Cristo Street in Binondo, Manila.
Chief Inspector Bonifacio Carta of the Manila Fire District was quoted as saying that the fire, which started at the roof deck, quickly spread throughout the building because of the several boxes of plastic wares stored in it.
The building is owned by Tay Hua Trading and Company, Carta said.
Carta said the fire started around 1:46 a.m. and reached fourth alarm before it was put out at around 5:54 a.m.
There were no reported casualties or injuries, he said.
Investigation is still on going to determine the cause of the fire, Carta said.
