2 village officials in Pangasinan, Ilocos Sur nabbed for firearms, drugs
DAGUPAN CITY — Police arrested two village officials in Ilocos Sur and Pangasinan provinces for illegal possession of firearms and illegal drugs, police said.
A police drug bust on August 14 captured Eddie Fernando Cabico, a council member of Langaoan village in Sta. Maria town in Ilocos Sur, according to the Ilocos regional police office.
Police confiscated from Cabico a sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu (crystal meth).
In Bayambang town in Pangasinan, police arrested Nelson Pagador Latorre, council member of Manambong Sur village, following a 6:30 a.m. raid at his House on Wednesday (August 15).
Police seized from him a .45 caliber Armscor pistol, ammunition for a .45-caliber pistol and a shotgun.
The police and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group members were armed with a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court judge Mervin Jovito Samadan.
