Kadayawan Festival

A thanksgiving for the gift of life and nature in Davao City in Davao del Sur province.

Residents  celebrate the rich cultural heritage and the bountiful harvest of the city.

Niyogyugan Festival

A weeklong agri-tourism festival at Lucena City in Quezon province featuring diverse coconut products and other sea and farm produce.

Niyogyugan is derived from the words “niyog” and “yugyog” (to move to the beat).

Festivities, which coincide with former President Manuel Quezon’s 140th birth anniversary, include a cultural night, arts exposition and painting competition, street dancing and float competition.

Aug. 12 to 30

Ibalong Festival

A festival in Legazpi City, Albay province reliving a Bicolano epic written by Merito Espinas titled, “Ibalong.”

The epic tells of mythical heroes, villains and wild animals in ancient times and their extraordinary feats of strength and courage.

Numerous national and international sports events are held such as triathlon, volleyball, dragon boat race and badminton competition.

There will also be a presentation of scenes from the Ibalong epic.
