CITY OF ILAGAN — A trader with alleged ties to gambling operations in Isabela was shot dead by motorcycle-riding men at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday in Alibagu village here, police said.

Delfin De Vera was shot in the head and torso while waiting for his turn at a local car wash.

The gunman sped away on a motorcycle driven by an accomplice.

The police launched pursuit operations, but did not provide details about De Vera’s gambling connections or whether it was likely the reason for the attack. /ee
