Jail officer shot dead in Sta. Ana, Manila

A jail officer was killed by an unknown assailant aboard a motorcycle in Sta. Ana, Manila on Thursday morning.

Initial reports from the Manila Police District (MPD) identified the victim as George Delfin, 49 years old.

The victim was declared dead on the spot after sustaining gunshot wounds, according to investigators on the scene on Sagrada corner Orobi Streets in Sta. Ana.

According to Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Spokesperson Jail Chief InspectorXavier Solda, Delfin is a Jail Inspector assigned at the Metro Manila District Jail Main Building inside Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.   /vvp
