The Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3) did not report an incident of passenger unloading in the past 29 days, Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade announced on Wednesday.

Tugade said this was so far the longest streak recorded by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) in the MRT-3’s operation since 2011.

“Ngayong araw na ho ito, this is the 29th day na walang unloading sa MRT. That makes it the longest span of time na walang unloading incident,” Tugade said in a press briefing at Malacañang.

Tugade was at the Palace to give updates on the progress of the government’s ambitious “Build, Build, Build” infrastructure program.

The electrical glitch that caused the train to stop operating was caused by “worn-out sub-components,” the MRT-3 management said in a service advisory.  /muf
