11 inmates recaptured after Bacoor jail break

At least 11 inmates have already been recaptured following the jail break that happened in Bacoor Custodial Center last Friday.

Bacoor police chief Supt. Vicente Cabatingan said on Sunday that manhunt operations would continue to search for the remaining 12 detainees.

As of Sunday morning, Cabatingan said that there were also some escaped inmates who expressed their willingness to surrender to the police.

Cabatingan added that the inmates were either captured in their homes or with the help of the local authorities in Cavite City.

“’Yung iba, inabutan natin sa bahay, hindi pa nakakaalis sa bahay nila,” he said in an interview with DZBB.

(The others were caught in their houses as they haven’t left yet.)

“Yung iba naman, talaga ay sa tulong na ng kabarangay natin sa Bacoor and even sa nearby cities at municipalities dito sa Cavite City po,” he added.

All 23 inmates will be charged with a different case once back inside the cell.

About eight Bacoor jail guards were also relieved from their posts following the jail break incident. /je
