‘Shameless’ drug suspect jailed days after release

A notorious drug suspect’s ticket out of jail—an unexpected acquittal earlier this month—was revoked on Tuesday morning after he was busted with over P7 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth).
Undercover agents from the antidrug unit of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) arrested Bryan Dudley at 3:30 a.m. during an entrapment operation at the corner of University and Commonwealth Avenues in Quezon City.
Previous case
The 24-year-old Dudley was arrested on April 8, 2016, in Pasay City, also in a buy-bust operation, and charged with violating Sections 5 and 11 of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
He was released on July 2 this year after a court acquitted him, according to the NCRPO.
Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, NCRPO director, told the Inquirer that the police were looking into the reason for Dudley’s acquittal which might have been on a mere technicality.
Eleazar said he was surprised, not only by the acquittal of the suspect, but also by his brazenness as Dudley went right back to the drug trade after his release.

“He has no shame,” Eleazar added, saying he believed that Dudley probably got to know big-time drug suspects and “masterminds” while he was detained at the Pasay City Jail, further strengthening his involvement in crime.
NCRPO antidrug operatives now have custody of Dudley, who will be charged once again with violating the Dangerous Drugs Act.
Together with officers of the Quezon City Police District and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the NCRPO also seized 1.1 kilos of shabu worth P7.4 million from Dudley.
Eleazar said the suspect was part of a syndicate that trafficked drugs in Pasay, Manila and other nearby Metro Manila cities.
