PDEA destroys P28M worth of marijuana in Kalinga
BAGUIO CITY – Anti-narcotics agents destroyed vast marijuana estimated to be worth P27.779 million in the villages of Loccong and Butbut at Tinglayan town in Kalinga province on Thursday (July 19).
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and other law enforcement groups raided 10 plantation sites in Loccong and seven in Butbut.
But no marijuana planter was apprehended during the multi-agency clean-up operations of drug-affected areas.
Tinglayan has been the target of marijuana operations for the past few decades.
It recently drew the spotlight for being the home of indigenous tattoo artist Whang-od Oggay. KARLSTON LAPNITEN
