Second alarm raised at Marikina River

The local government of Marikina City has raised the alert level at the Marikina River to second alarm due to heavy rainfall dumped by the southwest monsoon and tropical storm Inday on Friday.

In its Facebook page, the Marikina City Public Information Office (PIO) said the river’s water level is current was at 16.1 meters as of 8:30 am.

The Marikina City government will suggest voluntary evacuation if the water level reaches 17 meters. Forced evacuation will be announced on the third alarm when the water level reaches 18 meters. /muf
