3 college students yield marijuana in QC
Three college students, including a minor, were arrested after a professor caught their attention, and reported them to police for possessing sachets of marijuana inside the school on Thursday afternoon.
A report reaching Chief Supt. Joselito Esquivel, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, said Jovan Gragasin, 18, Jaycrome Lapinig, 18, and a 17-year-old male, all students of Bestlink College of the Philippines in Novaliches, Quezon City, were sent to the QCPD Police Station 5 at past 5 p.m.
Fairview Police station commander Supt. Benjamin Gabriel said the minor asked permission from his professor to go out for a while, reportedly to meet with Gragasin and Lapinig.
The professor became suspicious after seeing the student returning with a small plastic sachet in his right pocket.
It turned out to contain dried marijuana leaves, prompting the professor to immediately inform school authorities and turn them over to the police for further investigation.—Jodee A. Agoncillo
