Basketball star Terrence Romeo was invited for questioning by police early Thursday morning after being involved in a scuffle at a bar along Tomas Morato, Quezon City.
Initial reports revealed that Romeo was approached by a group of alleged fans inside the bar supposedly to have a picture with him, but one of his companions allegedly punched a fan that led to the exchange of blows from both groups.
“Una po, nakapagpapicture na kami kina Terrence. Pangalawa po, pauwi na kami, nagpapaalam po kami para magpapicture po ulit. Nagulat na lang po kami may bigla pong sumapak,” Clarissa Cabrera, wife of one of the victims, said in an interview with DZMM.
(First, we already had a picture taken with Terrence’s group. Secondly, we were about to go home, we asked if we could have another picture with them. But we were surprised when someone suddenly threw a punch.)
“Hanggang sa nagkagulo na po. Napailalim na po ‘yung binugbog nila,” she added.

She said they were able to take a photo of the man but the basketball player’s camp denied he was one of them.
Romeo was eventually allowed to leave Quezon City Police Station 10 in Kamuning as no complaint has been lodged against anyone involved in the fracas, as of this posting. /kga
