‘Gardo’ now out of PAR but occasional rain still expected in parts of PH

Typhoon Gardo (international name: Maria) is now out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Tuesday evening.

However, occasional rain is still expected in the National Capital Region, as well as parts of Luzon and Visayas, Pagasa said.

The state weather agency said the southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms over Zambales, Bataan, and Batangas.

Occasional rain and thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and nearby areas. Light to moderate winds will be coming from southwest to south and coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Meanwhile, Palawan and Occidental Mindoro will have cloudy skies with monsoon rain.

Pagasa also noted that Western Visayas will experience cloudy skies with occasional rains due to Southwest Monsoon.

“The rest of Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms,” the state weather bureau said.   /vvp
