Fire hits Romblon State University main building

CITY OF CALAPAN – A fire burned the second floor of the main building of Romblon State University in Odiongan town in Romblon province on Saturday afternoon.

Supt. Imelda Tolentino, Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) police information officer, said the cause of the fire, which started at 1:45 p.m. was still being determined.

She said the blaze burned the entire second floor of administration building of the school located in Barangay (village) Liwanag.

The Bureau of Fire Protection Odiongan declared a “fire out” at 3 p.m.

Police said the initial estimated cost of damage was P1 million.  MADONNA T. VIROLA
