South Korean city offers MWSS water, sewage projects

/ 07:24 AM July 01, 2018

South Korea’s third largest city, Daegu, has offered to help the Metropolitan Waterworks Sewerage System (MWSS) build plants that use advanced technology to supply clean water to Metro Manila.

The proposed projects included a system to treat sewage prior to its discharge.

Reynaldo Velasco, MWSS administrator, said in a statement that the offer was made by a delegation from Daegu led by Yon Chang-kim, deputy mayor for economic affairs of the Korean city.

The Daegu proposal would require government-to-government cooperation to build water purification and sewage treatment plants, improve sewage discharge systems and install water purification systems.
