6 minors arrested in QC operations

Six minors involved in separate cases of robbery, stabbing and violation of ordinances were arrested on Tuesday and Wednesday.

A report reaching Chief Supt. Joselito Esquivel, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, said a minor who was accosted for urinating in a public place allegedly wounded a patrolling policeman.

Two minors involved in a P64,000 robbery were arrested in Barangay Ramon Magsaysay, Quezon City, on Tuesday night.

The QCPD said complainant, Rosario Rabina, was asleep in her house around 11 p.m. when one of the minors took Rabina’s bag containing P40,000 in cash, jewelry worth of P12,000 and a Samsung Galaxy phone.

The minors managed to escape but a brother of the minor went to Rabina’s house to admit that his brother stole the bag. He returned it but the contents were missing. Both minors later surrendered.

In Novaliches, three male minors aged 14, 15 and 16 were arrested for illegal gambling. Police were patrolling Austria Street in Barangay Novaliches Proper on Tuesday night when they chanced upon the three minors playing cara y cruz on the street.—JODEE A.
