As of December 2017, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, through its Traffic Engineering Center, has built a total of 107 footbridges in strategic locations throughout Metro Manila.

The footbridges provide safe walkways for some 3.05 million pedestrians daily and promote faster traffic flow.

In 2017 alone, three footbridges were constructed on Katipunan Avenue corner Boni Serrano, on East Avenue corner V. Luna, and on Timog Avenue corner Edsa.

The East Avenue-SSS footbridge was moved to East Avenue-Mayaman Street while the footbridge at South Super Highway Gate 3 in Nichols, Taguig City, was extended. —Marielle Medina
