JONES, ISABELA – A 23-year-old farmer was hacked to death on Monday night (June 25) by his 20-year-old brother following a drunken spat in Barangay (village) Dicamay Dos in this town, police said.

The violent death of Anthony Dumuan at the hands of his brother Sherwin occurred five days after another drunk farmer stabbed his own brother in Naguilian town, also in Isabela province.

Anthony, Sherwin and a third brother, Ryan, were sharing drinks at a nipa hut when Anthony threatened to kill Sherwin during a heated argument.

Sherwin grabbed his bolo and repeatedly struck Anthony on the head and body, said Chief Inspector Rex Pascua, Jones police chief. Sherwin surrendered to the police.

On June 20, 48-year-old farmer Jerry Tangonan was killed by his 44-year-old sibling, Aladdin, while quarreling at their home in Naguilian.
