More roads to open in Metro Manila to ease traffic – DPWH
More roads will be opened across Metro Manila in the next two to three years in the hope of resolving the traffic condition in the country, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said Tuesday.
Four major roadworks are on the table, with some minor projects that could be operational by the end of this year, said Alex Bote, DPWH director for Public and Private Partnership Service.
“Talagang push ni Secterary Mark [Villar] ‘yung ginagawa namin na mitigation ng traffic,” Bote told Radyo Inquirer.
(Secretary Mark Villar is really pushing, working on to mitigate the traffic.)
Bote said among these projects are the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3, NLEX–SLEX Connector Road, Southeast Metro Manila Expressway and Manila Taguig Expressway.

He expressed confidence that the country’s traffic woes would be solved eventually.
“Sa sipag ng secretary natin, itong traffic na ito, malulutas ’yan,” Bote said.
