Duterte appoints new associate justices to CA, Sandiganbayan
President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed new associate justices to the Court Appeals (CA) and the Sandiganbayan.
Duterte named two new CA associate justices: Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga, replacing Romeo Barza, and Emily Aliño-Geluz, replacing Leoncia Dimagiba.
The President also appointed to Sandiganbayan Georgina Dumpit Hidalgo, replacing Rodolfo Ponferrada.
Montejo-Gonzaga is the Davao del Norte judge who ordered the arrest of self-confessed hitman Edgar Matobato.

Hidalgo, meanwhile, is a Caloocan City Regional Trial Court judge who was elected as president of the Philippine Judges Association in 2015.
