1 killed, 1 injured after tricycle crashes into mini bus in Pangasinan

DAGUPAN CITY — A tricycle driver was killed while his wife was injured on Thursday night (June 14) when their tricycle rear-ended a mini bus in Sta. Barbara town in Pangasinan, police said.

Anthony Padilla, 33, suffered head injuries and died as he was being taken by an ambulance to the Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan City.

Padilla’s wife, Shiela Padilla, 34, was treated at the Mapandan Community Hospital in Mapandan town.

Police said the tricycle was tailing the mini bus along the westbound lane of the Sta. Barbara-Urdaneta road at about 8 p.m under heavy rain.

The tricycle hit the bus on reaching Barangay Tebag West, police said.

Police were still investigating if the mini bus made a sudden stop or if the tricycle was speeding.  /muf
