Cops kill man wanted for drugs in Quezon
LUCENA CITY – Police killed a man wanted for drug pushing as he resisted arrest in Gumaca town in Quezon province Tuesday night.
Gumaca police chief Sr. Insp. San Juan Felmar Aquino said in a report that authorities were about to serve the warrant of arrest against Alberto “Billy” Lee, 58, in Barangay Progreso around 7:30 p.m. when a shootout ensued.
The arresting team included anti-illegal drugs operatives from the local police station and provincial headquarters, Aquino noted.
Lee reportedly fired at authorities using his caliber .45-pistol instead of surrendering peacefully. This prompted policemen to shoot back, killing the suspect.
