The freedom enjoyed by Filipinos today is facing danger.

This was the warning issued by Vice President Leni Robredo during the commemoration of the 120th anniversary of Philippine Independence.

“Sa panahon ngayon, tila humaharap na naman ang ating kalayaan sa iba’t ibang mukha ng panganib,” Robredo said in a statement.

Robredo noted the rise of poverty, price hikes among goods and commodities as well as the “deprivation” of justice.

The vice president also pointed out the “disregard” of human rights and the attempt of foreign powers to take over the country’s territories.

But in spite of this, Robredo said: “Hindi magpapatalo ang Pilipinong kilala ko.”

/jpv
