DID YOU KNOW: 24,066 jaywalkers caught in 2017

According to the 2017 annual report of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, a total of 24,066 jaywalkers were apprehended by the Anti-Jaywalking Unit last year during its periodic operations on Edsa-Quezon Avenue, Edsa-Taft Avenue, Edsa-Ortigas, Edsa-Ayala and on Edsa itself.

Of the 24,066 jaywalkers apprehended, 20,238 paid fines, 219 rendered community service while 3,609 have unsettled penalties. —Marielle Medina
