SAN PEDRO CITY – A still unidentified child and a man were believed to have drowned in separate locations in Rizal province, the police said Monday.
In Cainta, Dennis Castillo was found dead in a creek in Barangay (village) Sto. Domingo, a report from the regional police headquarters said.
Domingo’s relatives earlier reported to authorities that he was missing after the man allegedly jumped over a bridge on June 9, the report said.
Police said someone reported finding his body at 7:20 a.m. Monday.
In Antipolo City, a barangay rescue team found the body of a boy believed to be between 8 to 15 years old, in Barangay Cupang on Sunday afternoon.
Authorities believed the child was swept by a strong river current, during heavy rains over the weekend.
The police have yet to identify the child, who was described as wearing a green sleeveless shirt and yellow short pants. Maricar Cinco/lb
