2 drown in Rizal province

SAN PEDRO CITY – A still unidentified child and a man were believed to have drowned in separate locations in Rizal province, the police said Monday.

In Cainta, Dennis Castillo was found dead in a creek in Barangay (village) Sto. Domingo, a report from the regional police headquarters said.

Domingo’s relatives earlier reported to authorities that he was missing after the man allegedly jumped over a bridge on June 9, the report said.

Police said someone reported finding his body at 7:20 a.m. Monday.

Authorities believed the child was swept by a strong river current, during heavy rains over the weekend.
