The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) warned of flooding in parts of Quezon City on Monday.
In a 2:00 p.m. advisory, the government of Valenzuela also reported 10 areas that are submerged in flood.

Heavy rainfall
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a heavy rainfall alert caused by the southwest monsoon or “hanging habagat” over Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

Flood safety
On its website, PAGASA lists some precautionary measures that people can take in flood-prone areas:
(1) Move to higher places when you expect flooding in your area.
(2) Transfer electric appliances to the upper floors of your houses or buildings when you expect floods.
(3) Switch off power when electrical appliances or outlets will be submerged in floodwater.
(4) As much as possible, avoid wading in floodwaters.
