CITY OF CALAPAN – Five people were arrested by police as they were caught in the act using crystal meth (shabu) in a drug den in San Jose town in Occidental Mindoro province Sunday afternoon.
Supt. Imelda Tolentino, Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) police information officer, said arrested were fisherman Henry Abayon, 43; student Reynan Berontos, 18; and Erold and Wilson, both 36 and surnamed Estipona. All suspects were newly identified drug personalities.
Also arrested was Gloria Polluna, a drug surrenderee in the government’s campaign against illegal drugs who also owns the house that she turned into a drug den at Purok Bayanihan in Barangay Caminawit.
Agents of the municipal drug enforcement unit and San Jose police conducted the anti-illegal drugs operation at around 3:40 p.m. in Polluna’s house and caught the suspects at the middle of a drug session.
Confiscated from the suspects were two pieces of heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a substance believed to be shabu and various drug paraphernalia. /atm
