In her two years in office, Makati Mayor Abby Binay has seen four city police chiefs come and go for various reasons.
The fifth and latest, however, has earned praise from her.
“I am happy that my fifth chief of police since I started as a mayor in 2016 is my favorite as of today,” Binay said, referring to Senior Supt. Roger Simon, who was appointed on May 10.
“Why? Because he has arrested many offenders, whether it be a minor offense like drinking in public or being half-naked. I think it’s a first step toward instilling discipline in Makati,” she said. —Dexter Cabalza
